Moses and his team have been protecting her, but the more they find out about this guy the more dangerous he sounds. In Creole Kingpin, Magnolia fought off the hitman and ended up killing him and now the guy’s brother is intent on killing her. It seems that a client recently ran away with one of the girls, and that guys wife got so angry she hired a hitman to kill her husband, the girl and Magnolia, because Magnolia was still technically on the deed to the house until Desiree finished paying it off. If you have read Creole Kingpin you already know that Magnolia has gone legit and is selling her old “house” to one of the girls that used to work for her named Desiree. Though he did still save her from being brutalized by those guys, I’m not going to tell you the actual reason he was there. In other words, he wasn’t there to protect her. This book takes up where the first book left off after Mount dropped a bomb on Magnolia about the fact that Moses wasn’t in her house during hurricane Katrina by accident or didn’t just happen by while those two guys broke into her house and were assaulting her. This was a great second book for a Duet! It was as good as the first and there was as much or more action and romance as in book one.
